16th July 2011 - Dear Emma's holidays down south...

I'm often asked to take my things further south and now I'm delighted to say some blue tits and snails are on their holidays in Cornwall!
Ceri Taylor commissioned me to make some bespoke pieces for her gallery TAYT Morden deep in the Tamar Valley, Cornwall.
TAYT Morden is a rural art and craft gallery approx 15 miles north of Plymouth. I’d love to be able to go since it describes itself as an ‘anti-gallery’ offering a relaxed, bright welcoming environment, dedicated to helping develop and promote art and craft.
Click here to find out more. If you go do get in touch to tell me what it’s like.
Here are some images of my work in the gallery.

This week an interview I did with folksy is on their blog.

July 8th 2011 - Girl on film...

As part of the incredible 2011 Saltaire Arts Trail I was interviewed for a promotional film about the event.
Directed and produced by Simon Lawson the film was commissioned by the Arts Trail committee and gives a lovely overview of
what the Arts Trail is about - including the celebrated Maker's Fair.
Please click on the image below to go the hosting website to watch it - you might even spot yourself!

A very special thank you to Paula Perrins of Wychbury for suggesting me to Simon and giving me the opportunity to take part in the film. x

It's lovely to have the opportunity to be featured in July's edition of the fabulous Mollie Makes magazine.

June 14th 2011 - Hi-Ho Hi-Ho, it's off to work we go...

First day in my new job today! I'll be working and making in the fabulous Cakewalk in Ilkley each Tuesday.

It really is a fabulous shop selling handmade items from over 70 different makers (including me of course) carefully selected by the owner and creative force behind the shop Emma Straw. We also sell vintage homeware and fashion, it's a fab place for presents when you want something just that little bit different.

If you've never been I really recommend a visit and if you come on a Tuesday you can meet me!

June 13th 2011 - Dear Emma get's over excited...

You can listen to a podcast of the interview I gave after being awarded Best Presented Stall at the Art Market by clicking on the image below. The accompanying video shows shots of my stall and work. Fortunately they were able to edit out my "forward splash" faux pas when I gave website details!

June 12th 2011 - and the winner is...

I was delighted to be awarded 'Best Presented Stall Award' by the fabulous Art Market presented to me by Clare Lilley, curator at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.  After weeks of obsessing about my stall layout and fierce competition on the day, it was worth all the blood, sweat and tears.  Thank you Art Market!

28th May 2011 - By popular demand...

It was the first day of the Saltaire Maker's Fair today and I had so many people asking if I made blue tit brooches that I decided to stay up into the small hours and make some! Here they are - I love it when my customers inspire me!

May 2nd 2011 - Popular Crafts...

One of my little house pots was featured in issue 8 of Popular Crafts magazine!
